In the morning, your Tanzania camping safari begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations in northern Tanzania. Covering approximately 2,600 km²—about the size of Luxembourg—Tarangire is renowned for its diverse landscapes of golden savannah, seasonal swamps, and iconic giant baobab trees.
The park is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, eland, fringe-eared oryx, and the unique long-necked gerenuk. With over 550 recorded bird species, Tarangire is also a paradise for bird lovers.
However, the park is most famous for its massive elephant herds. During the dry season, groups of up to 300 elephants gather along the Tarangire River, making it one of the best places in East Africa to witness these majestic giants up close.
After an extensive game drive and picnic lunch inside the park, you will proceed to a Lodge located just outside the park for dinner and overnight at Fig Tree Lodge.
