Rise early and enjoy breakfast before descending 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Often referred to as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers one of the most concentrated wildlife experiences in Africa.
As you explore the crater floor, you will encounter a remarkable diversity of habitats — open grasslands, acacia woodlands, swamps, and soda lakes — each supporting different species. With more than 25,000 animals residing within the crater, wildlife viewing is exceptional year-round.
During your game drive, you may spot:
- The Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino
- Large prides of lions resting on the plains
- Herds of buffalo and wildebeest
- Hippos in freshwater pools
- Flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi
- Hyenas, jackals, and various antelope species
The crater is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat.
Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch at a designated site near a hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. After lunch, continue your game drive before ascending the crater rim in the afternoon.
You will then begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. Upon arrival, check in and relax after an unforgettable safari adventure.
