Spend the entire day exploring the Northern Serengeti, one of the best places to witness dramatic river crossings during migration season.

  • Elephants and giraffes
  • Hyenas and jackals

The remote setting offers fewer crowds and exceptional wildlife experiences.

  • Vast open plains with grazing herbivores

Overnight: Nyani Public Campsite

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, when wildlife is most active. The golden morning light offers excellent opportunities to spot predators returning from a night hunt, grazing herbivores across the plains, and perhaps a last glimpse of lions resting on kopjes or elephants moving through the savannah.

Late in the afternoon, begin your scenic journey toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, driving through the vast Serengeti plains with en-route game viewing. As you approach the conservation area, the landscape gradually changes from open grasslands to rolling hills covered in acacia woodland and lush vegetation.

Arrive at the rim of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater in the evening. At over 2,200 meters above sea level, the crater rim offers breathtaking panoramic views into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. On a clear day, you can see the vast crater floor stretching nearly 20 kilometers across, home to thousands of animals.

After settling into camp, enjoy time to relax, take photographs, and soak in the cool highland atmosphere as the sun sets over the crater.

Overnight: Simba A Campsite (Crater Rim)
Meals: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Rise early and enjoy breakfast before descending 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Often referred to as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers one of the most concentrated wildlife experiences in Africa.

As you explore the crater floor, you will encounter a remarkable diversity of habitats — open grasslands, acacia woodlands, swamps, and soda lakes — each supporting different species. With more than 25,000 animals residing within the crater, wildlife viewing is exceptional year-round.

During your game drive, you may spot:

  • The Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino
  • Large prides of lions resting on the plains
  • Herds of buffalo and wildebeest
  • Hippos in freshwater pools
  • Flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi
  • Hyenas, jackals, and various antelope species

The crater is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat.

Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch at a designated site near a hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. After lunch, continue your game drive before ascending the crater rim in the afternoon.

You will then begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. Upon arrival, check in and relax after an unforgettable safari adventure.
